Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
I started this thread and it has been very interesting reading the comments.
I have a GTV V6 phase 2, 6 speed,my 3rd GTV and one of the very last ones made before the p3.I did have a p1 also, never noticed much difference apart from the slatted grill, the dull dark interior, the 5sp gearbox and the bog standard 16" wheels, the P2 for me is a better car in 6sp form with the improved interior and 17" teledials, much better looking.
The p3 ugly or not is also a fine car,but face lifts rarely work and with the prettier new GT on the way the p3 never had a chance commercially.
Perhaps my thread should have started by saying ,GTV most distinctive alfa ever???
But that would possibly be the SZ,followed by the p3?
There are alot of "pretty" Alfas, but not many combine great value,a superb driving experience and that got to take a second look as you walk away, irresistible!
I have not met anybody who thinks the GTV is an unimaginative piece of design that can be confused with something else, its not a mock Ferrari or a shrunk down Corvette, its a unique design unlike some.
