The modern GTV, all phases, is in my opinion an exceptionally good looking car, and the best looking alfa since the alfetta GTV of the 70s. Its beauty is all the more remarkable considering it is a modern car, most are dogs trapped by committee and health and safety considerations. There are plenty of gorgeous 60s-70s cars, not that many since.
Again very rarely I think its also a car that got better looking with age (contentious I know). Alfa have traditionally been even worse than most at facelifts (remember the disastrous 1980 facelifts that ruined the cheeky looks of the alfasud and the elegance of the alfetta GTV?) not to mention the Sud Sprint and later attempts such as the later 156 and 147 which while not quite such a clamity were certainly not an improvement.
Well for me the phase 3 GTV is the best looking followed by the 2 then the 1. I actually love the nose job on the 3 and genuinely believe it to be an improvement, there was no need to touch the rest of the car which is perfect. The 2 is also a fantastic looking motor particularly with the teledials and the 1 should be given its due as the original. For me though its let down a little by low rent interior, black sills and those original alloys which never looked quite right.
