Passenger door shutting with window outside hood

Thanks for responses in my other thread. I also have noticed this little problem:

When I shut the passenger door the window is hooked outside the hood. Is the window supposed to automatically drop a bit and rise up, or should it just fit inside the space created by the hood? Either way has anyone else had this and is there a way to fix it?

Re: Passenger door shutting with window outside hood

We occasionally get this, usually taking the roof down and back up fixes the problem. If it's raining just lower the window a tad before closing the door.
Not sure if it only happens when the car isn't on a level surface or not.
The windows have never dropped down on shutting the door but other folks on the forum have mentioned that this is the case.

Re: Passenger door shutting with window outside hood

I'm not sure which year there was a change but our 98 doesn't drop automatically, later cars do. We've had this problem though and I think yours might be the same cause....the glass needs tightening every so often for this reason and to prevent leaks.

Try a search of the forum for the full fix...basically its door panel off and tighten four bolts.
