I still say you should be ashamed of yourself for causing him so much hassle and be grateful he is such a decent bloke for giving you your money back when anyone else wouldn't even have the bare faced cheek to ask. I put you on to that car in good faith through this forum and caused a friend a mountain of hassle. Hence my interference in "your business".
Anyway I've said all I want to on the subject and explained my strange post in the thread.
Actually i only had two short drives in the car, the first time i drove it it had quite an obvious misfire present so it wasn't really ready to view!.
Yes , he changed the bonnet, but he was going to do that anyway as he already had one on another car, no big deal anyway, i often change them all day long so i know.
He is a decent bloke to reverse the deal, but what would you do if you bought a car only to find out the head gasket/s are on the way out!!, sniffer reading 50 HC by the way, zero to 5 HC is acceptable, where do you think all that HC is coming from?.
"Bare faced cheek to ask for my money back", he offered it back actually!.
"Hassle" !!, what do you think i've just been through?
If your that impressed with the car why don't you buy it and i'd like to re-ask what the hell has it got to do with you?, YOU have caused me a mountain of hassle mate with your self righteous comments.
The owner of the vehicle is on this Forum and is more than capable of speaking up for and representing himself.
For your information there is a load of greyish gunk in that cars header tank which i rather suspect is some sort of 'miracle cure' sealant. I didn't notice when i viewed the car because i was under the impression it was a sorted motor and didn't really look that hard knowing the owner etc. I'm sure he didn't know either and it's his car!.
