Hi guys back again, did a bit of work on the alfette today, nearly broke my knuckle loosening bolts, suffice to say that i can see the bone of my knucle, bit like "terminator" lol.
Anyway, I have removed a lot of bits and pieces under the car also the radiator, fan etc. but cant actually see the anchoring points for the engine! There is just one that I can see, a "leg" connected to the gearbox and anchored to the chassis in the on the centre line of the car. I've removed the driveshafts, the exhaust etc.
I can't see the other anchor points that you mentioned Turbonuts, the ones at the aircon pump and the exhaust. The damn engine seems to be hanging in there all on its own. Doesn't help that I dont have a hoist or pit as i can't really get in there as well as i would like to.
Also the subframe; seems to me that the subframe holds the steering and front wheel assembly? If I remove it I wont be able to drop or move/roll the car again until I have finished the engine fitting? I already took off two metal plates, from under the car, beside the sterring wishbones no idea what they're for, one on each side that has some rubber grommets built in to them, seems like some sort of stabiliser, the rubber washers or grommets are shot anyway, pulled completely out of the plates......
Any ideas? I didn't take any pictures today, forgot to bring my camera, I'll probably attack her again next sunday so ill post pics then.
In the meantime, I'm relying on you guys to help out if ye can and hopefully ill be able to drop the bugger next week, then the fun will start!!
Im off to take a shower now as im covered in blood, grease, sweat and dust!
If you guys have any good pictures of the anchorage points, they would be appreciated.
