Thanks for your help Jimmy, and too everyone else
Like my mate, we are new to alfa, and I was left rather puzzled, as the car started fine this morning, no problem, then I went to a mates, and left the car for a couple of hours, then on return the car seemed to go into shutdown mode, as Jimmy has mentioned.
At first the ignition did come on, but wouldn't start. Then the alarm sounded when I got out of the car. The keyfob did switch the alarm off, but when I went to try and start again there was no illumination on the dashboard and nothing when I turned the key. I went to the boot and opened it with the key, and the car seemed to disarm itself, there was a short sound, and the indicators flashed twice. Is this normal?
I am not sure what I did, but I left the car a couple of minutes, then the car started first time.
The only other thing I did notice was that the drivers window was very slightly ajar, as when you shut the door, the window seems to jump up, which needs looking at. Wondering if this could be linked as too why the car wouldn't start?
I guess leaving the car overnight will give me some indication if the battery is loosing its charge, and maybe on its way out.
