Well Happy Brake Discs and Pads

Hi to all, I am now the proud owner of a GTV 2.0 Lusso, it's my first one, which I picked up at the weekend, and have to say I am very impressed with performance and high standard blue leather interior. I have to say its the best car that I have owned coming from an MG ZS

I have a couple of niggles, one being that at about 70mph the steering starts to shake, and on slowing down at speed, mainly motorway driving.

My mate has the same car on an S plate, and we came to the conclusion that the tracking is way out. The car came with a new MoT and advisorys were slightly corroded brake rear brake pipes, and front brake discs worn.

Looking for some help as too where to buy brake discs at a good price, i've trawled eBay and there are quite a few different types to buy.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I personally would go for a well known make, your life is at stake here. I looked at the ebay offerings, and the Brembos would seem to me to be the best choice at 52 delivered, definitely a well respected brand, I have front Brembos on my GTV. Obviously you need to fit new pads at the same time.

Do a search mate, this has been covered quite a few times.

I have used cheap discs off ebay and am currently running a set of MTEC discs which are a little bit more expensive.

The MTEC's are highly regarded on here but to be honest I haven't really noticed a difference. And the cheap ones have had a hammering!!

I don't know how mechanically minded you are but I found out the hard way, when you fit the new discs make sure the hub face is scrubbed back to bare metal and don't use any grease. I got away with it the first time but on the second I thought I'd warped my discs in a couple of hundred miles....DOH!! At least I have a set of spares now
