Perhaps whatever caused your first MAF to fail has also taken out your two cheaper replacements? Perhaps it will now take out the next MAF, regardless of where you get it from? Have you got a TS air filter instead of a V6? Are the Vauxhall ones genuine or copies?
My original MAF lasted 6 years and the current one (full fat, full price original) has been in for 5 years and is going strong. You should be getting a similar life out of yours.
Are you running a stock air filter? I ask as I know the Autodelta ones sometimes cause issues as they have a tendency to allow moist air into the inlet as they are foam rather than paper and may also be covered in an oil coating.
Had mine 12 months/3k with frequent 6k rpm bursts ( i think I was the original finder of the Vauxhall supplier).
No problems. I've changed the autodelta foam filter to stock paper - it took 2 goes to get a V6 version, not the 1" shorter TS.
I suspect its something making your maf fail rather than the maf itself. Are you getting oil seepage back down inlet tube from the crank breather?
Will have another check of the inlet piping - but all looked spotless inside when changed the MAF last time.
Filter is probably due for remewal but is definately a V6 one.
Officially the MAF should still be inside the 12 month manufacturer warranty but as I have swapped the sensor into a different tube I assume this will now be void. Although I did keep the Vauxhall tube and the box it came it with reciept this time.
Ordered a new one - should arrive today. See if it fixes things.
Af far as the faulty one goes, Vauxhall World Parts said send it back to them and they will forawrd it on to Bosch. If they say its a warranty issue i will get a refund.
Fingers crossed I do
Well it lasted this long.
6 weeks and gone again! Exactly the same circumstances. Quite high revs second or third gear and just cuts out. Feels like you hit a wall it stops that hard. Now won't start with it connected. Bosch are ****e!
I forget how many its gone through now but yeas it 3 or 4 now.
Unsure where contamination might be coming from. Filter is almost new from main dealer and there is no oil/vapour etc in the intake everthing is spotless. (all silicon and alloy so no splits or leaks either).
