I went and had a look at a Brera shortly after launch and got a bit confused because I did wonder as to whether I was sitting in a 159 or a Brera.
A Coupé, I think, needs to be special, different. All I saw was a 159 with a different back end. I walked away thinking 'meh'. It was quite a disappointment.
The 916 has a modified Tipo floorpan. The engines are shared amongst the range. The switches could also be found in the 156, 145 & 146 ( at least ). But everything else ( interior and exterior ) was special.
That's how the Brera should have been. Perhaps that's why Alfa only sold 29,000 of the things ( and about 12,000 Spiders ). A little more effort, make them a little more special and maybe they could have sold a few more. They certainly didn't sell one to me for that very reason.
