Front Wheel bearing, replacement advice

I have a 2.0 GTV and am going to have a go at replacing a front wheel bearing this weekend as at the moment it is really noisy. I have got a socket that fits the hub nut, a tool which I can use to remove the hub and one to remove and fit the new bearing. I have never done this type of job before and wondered if anyone had any advice/tips to offer?

IIRC it is fairly straightforward, though you are supposed to use a press to remove the old race we smacked it out with a lump hammer and used the carcass as a drift to relocate the new bearing in the hub.

Apologies if this sounds like the work of a bodger, but having no press required a bit of lateral thinking at the time.
