Yup, I tied it in with a few other things so it made sense but I would do it again even if it was only for the door.
Replacement parts and labour are much, much cheaper in the UK compared to NL.
Here in NL I was looking at a 2 week lead time for the bits and a parts cost of over €300 for a replacement door (excluding glass and window regulator) plus another €100ish for fitting. That was using 2nd hand parts at my trusted Alfa specialist. So total cost would have been in the region of €6-700
Autlousso had a new door/glass/regulator on the car within 2hrs and for the princely sum of about 120GBP (I seem to remember).
The car will likely need a new clutch next year and I will be driving it all the way to AL especially for this - its about 1/3 to 1/2 the cost to have it done at AL rather than here in NL.
There are only a few things I prefer in the UK over NL (supermarkets being one of them) but one of the others is the proliferation and cost of good quality/experienced specialist garages for any marque of car.
