Could you devise a bell housing or adaptor to give you a propshaft from the back of the Maserati engine to go to the rear mounted gearbox?
Or you'd ditch the rear mounted gearbox, use the Maserati gearbox and put a different axle and differential at the back?
Do many people get different rear axles working with the de Dion rear suspension of Alfettas? (Dead axle as opposed to live axle).
You'd be better off using another RWD car that uses a front front mounted gearbox.
It's only really feasible if you can do it yourself or you have talented mechanic friends that owe you a massive favour and will do it for free.
If you really wanted to do something with a Maserati V6 you could look at putting one in a Lotus 7 style kit car chassis or just having one on a stand to look at.
One possible way of funding such a horrendously expensive project could be to devise a bell housing/adpator plate that allows Busso V6s from front wheel drive cars to be mated with a RWD gearbox and then sell those. Any money you make could be invested in your Maserati engined Alftetta GTV project.
