Hello & Help!
I'm having real handling problems with my GTV, example: This weekend I was going round a wet motorway roundabout at approx 25-30 Mph (In National speedlimit zone), the rear of the car stepped out/lost traction. This happened again on the return journey, i'm not a particularly aggresive driver and was travelling at what i though was a reasonanble speed for the conditions and the cars ability. (Plus i had my 82 year old nan in the car.....who thought it was hilarious
(not relevant i know)).
The general feel of the car is twitchy with the severe feed back (almost snatching out my hand) in the steering wheel and prone to tramlining. I believe the behaviour in the wet is a indication something is seriously wrong.
List of parts which ive replaced:-
Front - wishbones, shock absorbers, springs, track rod ends.
Whole rear subfame and suspension assembly (powerflexed bushes, new springs & shocks)
Just had the car 4 Wheel laser aligned.
All four tyres are less than 10,000 miles with good tread.
My thoughts are:-
Problem with the steering assembly somewhere causing the feed back in the steering wheel.
Now all components are replaced, the stiffness of the powerflex bushes are taking play (which is designed to be there) out of rear suspension.
I've spent quite a but of money getting the car to its original condition visually, however the handling is ruining the whole driving experience of the car.
If any of you kind people have any advice or had similar experiences, please point me in the right direction. Im reaching the point of desperation
Many thanks in advance
