Hmmm Rear brakes problem?!

I recently put my GTV through an MOT to try and get it back on the road and its unfortunately failed on the rear brakes not providing sufficient braking under both the hand brake and foot brake. The front ones are more than fine, and I have taken the rear wheels off (the pads and discs are fine) and I have bleed them to make sure no air is in the system. I took the calliper off and removed the piston as it was a little ceased, seals are all fine etc. and is now all back together moving freely, this improved it a little but is still low!

any ideas on what the problem could be?

If they are the self adjusting type pistons at the rear then you did well to remove the pistons and re-fit them as it's not an easy job to undertake. Can't help you really.:

try using a wind back tool to put piston right back into caliper body. Clean and copper slip all the sliding parts where pad rides caliper. Are the caliper sliders a good fit and well lubed?

I had got the same problem a few weeks ago. She failed on the hand brake efficiency. I had a word with Ned (Autolusso) and he said that was a common problem on Gtv. They replaced cables, adjusted the hand brake and she passed MOT.
