Boring Engine Rebuild Query - Piston/Ring/Bore sizes

Following my 2.0 JTS eating a piston I bought a second hand 2.0TS to strip and use as a donor. The JTS pistons need to go in the TS block. here is the problem, I think all JTS pistons start life as +0.4 as nominal, and the JTS block bore is 83.00mm. The TS block measures 82.60mm, therefore the pistons are theoretically too big.

I took the rings off one of the JTS pistons and when placed in the TS block the gap between the ends when fitted is 0.5mm, tight, but not out of the prescribed tolerance.

The question I have is, if I fit the JTS piston to the TS block will I run into problems if they are 0.4mm over size, even though the ring gap is acceptable. Note: I have installed one of the pistons and although tight it does slide up and down the bore.

Cheers, Sam
