Dead gtv

Great Bank Holiday, stripped out most of the inside of the gtv to find a spagetti junction of wiring, Checked the transpoder on the ignition barrel, checked all the relays I could find were tight, found wires that seemed to go nowhere or look as if they have been cut off, unplugged and re connected the immobilizer box under the dash, tried the ecu reset, disconnected the battery, checked the battery is fully charged, etc etc. After all this I still have the key logo up on the dash and the car still refuses to start. Also checked wires in the passenger foot well, and the inertia switch, nothing. Car was running perfectly untip the battery died but has not started since. Any suggestions aprt from the obvious!!

Had same problem recently, battery would turn the engine over but keycode light was on and would not start. Cured with replacing the battery
Best off luck.

Mine was a case of not checking the passenger footwell wires as they were all connected, it was a case of jiggling and poking/pulling while watching the dash, dry soldered joints, kept at it and when we got to the right ones the code light blinked out.....

You need a VAGCOM KKL cable and a free copy of FiatEcuScan. Plug the car into your laptop and find out what error code is being kicked out to cause the CODE light. F.E.S. should tell you.

Failing that take it to a good Alfa specialist.

Id also try hooking it up to a known good battery just to see if it makes a difference - these cars 'hate' even slightly dodgy batteries.

As I mentioned the first time this Q was asked weeks ago you will also have to consider that the CODE box is simply broken and needs to be replaced - it happened to mine. If you dont want to stomach the cost of a new CODE box and ECU theres a company in NL making some kind of chip to bypass the immobiliser.

If you have no particular attachment to the car and are sick of it I can also advise breaking it up for spares or chucking on eBay 'as is'.

H&S Corse stage 1.
CATCAMs stage 1 cams with Savali custom ECU remap.
305mm discs with 166 4-pot callipers.
Ragazzon exhaust mid section.
Biscione Racing 2x70mm rear section.
Polybush suspension.
17" Zender Siena wheels with 3mm rear spacers.
etc etc etc!
