Also forgot to add. The issue I'm worried about mainly with the car is basically noise.
When the car is idling, it sounds very grindy.... I know, not a lot of help but the best way to explain it is someone has added sand to the oil? The engine has no knocking, or banging, none of that. Just seems very rough when its on idle.
And also when Im pulling away there is a grinding noise from what appears the drivers side, right down by my feet. Now I though, (having a fair bit of knowledge on cars) maybe a wheel bearing, or cv joint. So I got to about 40-mph, put it in neutral and basically rolled down the hill to hear the noise. No noise, nothing.
So I try and few other things, and the best way I can "make" the car make this noise I notice, is it only does it when I have got my foot on the accelerator, pulling away/changing gear etc etc. No accelerator pressed, no noise (that I can hear)
It makes the same noise when I change gear and dont quite have enough revs, like a learner bunny hopping car, its kind of makes a grind..grind...grind, until I get to a steady speed, not a constant grinding.
Maybe bearings are all I can think of so far, so any help would be very much appreciated!!!!
Sorry for the huge long post, but its really worrying me this grinding type noise, hence I asked for local people of Poole who can tell me "no its what all alfas sound like" if you get me.
