Whilst the Cup is a phase two model (albeit late) my car was fitted with a Phase three cable so I guess the other Cups will be the same.
(Mind you this is Alfa we are talking about !!!)

The two are not the same so bear that in mind.
Oh and its a pig of a job as the cable runs from under the steering wheel across the top of the engine compartment and then down the left side.
On LHD cars of course its from the steering wheel and straight down the left side.
Simples !
You would think that for RHD cars they would just have reversed the procedure.
But no.
Not so simples !

Anyway job done so the car is now perfect until ......

Alan
Alan this is the Cup list, for things specific for Cups only.

The info above is relevant to all GTVs so would be better off posted in a new thread for all to see rather than 'lost' here.

Cheers

This is specific to Cups.
A Phase two GTV has a certain type of bonnet cable.
As the GTV Cups are phase two it is important to know that you whilst you might think to buy a phase two bonnet release cable you actually need a phase three.

Are all phase two GTV's in need of a phase three bonnet release ?
I doubt it.
Are the late build GTV's phase two in need of a phase three bonnet release .
Maybe but who can say what date etc

I think that is relevant to the GTV Cup list.

Eper can by chassis number.

Sorry Alan but you're wrong limiting this to Cups. They are no different to other GTVs of the same year...other than the visual cosmetic changes...no special cables etc.

The bonnet cable is the same for all GTVs & Spiders, Phase 1 & 2. Yes Phase 3 have a different part number but I'm at a lose as to why when all the operating components are the same. Maybe it's an improved version although normally Alfa would just change the part number, not list it as different.

If you post your findings in a new thread they will reach more members & probably receive a better response.

Clive

Perhaps Mario & Alfredo made it for 2 fat ladys?

Does the Silver V6 Cup, listed by DVLA, exist?

Perhaps Maria and Alfredo could not tell the difference between a V6 and a Twinspark
or
they thought oh to hell with it - lets stick the wrong engine in one of those Red one's.
Those peaceable Swiss boys will not argue the toss about it.

Oh strange days.

Hello all,

I am the new owner of Cup 138. I did note all the above issues but got it at a price that I can face tackling the issues! Unfortunately the previous owner did not appear to have been an enthusiast and there are a number of things to put right. I will take it one step at a time. Got some poly bushes for the rear. Going to fit new thermostat, spark plugs and going into garage tomorrow for diagnostics cos I think lambda playing up. Once running a it should I shall then have a go at bodywork - although not too bad really. I had a lovely fiat coupe but sold it recently and then bought rx8 -Bored with that - no noise, juicy and too refined!! Rest assured number 138 is in good hands.

Welcome welcome

Look forward to hearing and seeing pictures of the results of the tweaks and upgrades you plan

Will the dumb suckers even notice.
But what number shall we give it says Mario. Well my lucky number is 74 says Alfredo.
Perfect that will do they both chuckle....

Alan

Mario now lives in Poland as Italy has gone bankrupt and got himself a very nice 2.0TS Red Cup, Alfredo now makes wine in the south of France and changed his name to Alfie in order to disguise his identity from the UK Cup Lynch mob who are baying for his blood!

PS: Mario, sorry fella i wasn't taking the Michael, its just the opportunity as regards your username and this thread i found hard to resist.

Added & wording altered re red 2.0 TS European Cups' colours as there are obviously a few out there.

According to DVLA's records there's meant to be one SILVER UK V6 Cup...anyone seen it?

Anything's possible, especially where Alfa's involved!

Happy New Year
