Well the Veloces one is lacking badges, including the impossible to get unless Clive has another one spare Cup boot badge. The alloys are the wrong colour too... and if I'm being picky from what I can see of the drivers seat the leather could do with some TLC from a specialist. From an originality point of view, indicator side repeaters are wrong and the original stereo has been replaced. All sortable for not too much cash thankfully. Last negative observation (promise!) is that someone has been splashing black paint around on the engine, which in my opinion looks nowhere near as good as a nice clean block in the metal with the red lettering as it left the factory.

Having said all that the mileage is low, the paint looks super and I wish Veloces well in their quest for 10K.

Looking at the "new registrations" there are only 150 (and we know there were 155 in the UK)... 2 of those being in 2005 and 1 in 2006. Probably inaccurate being DVLA data, with 3 cars registered very late (possible I suppose) and 5 missing in action - maybe some dealers just put "GTV" on the registration form and not "GTV Cup"?

Apologies if this has been raised before...

Alfa GTV cup Coupe Keepers

[ A positive write up in the October issue No 224 of Auto Italia for the GTV cups.
There appears from the article that there are several disappeared from the UK roads 25 quoted to leave 130 ? from the 155 supplied by Alfa Romeo. Not sure where they get there info from.
Nice GTV cup shown in the article.

Total on 'How Many left' is 123, 90 taxed+33 sorned. Guesstimate a few(7?) that are neither, possibly owned by the trade....we don't have to sorn untaxed cars, & you get approx 130. A few will have been written off & broken, I know of one that definitely has as I've got it's ltd no' plaque.

GTV Cup List 2

Bought my Cup No 85 from a guy in Hornchurch who has had it for several years. Originally bought from Black and White garage.

Reg no: RA51 XMK

Good condition and was re-sprayed 12 months ago. Engine cosmetically tatty but in the process of renovating.

Hope that's all the details you need?

It relies on how the registering dealer described the car when registering. He may have put V6 Gtv or V6 24v not even mentioning the word "Cup"

The whole point of this thread is to find as many Cups as we can. How Many Left gives a fair guesstimate, probably the best we've got at the moment.

The original Cup list was started Jan 1st 2009 & coupled with this one in 5 1/2 yrs we've still only managed to list/find 100 out of 155.

Unless we already know of any that have been written off, crushed, scrapped or just broken for spares I doubt they'll ever come to light. There might be a way of checking the list of Cup chassis numbers with DVLA? They should have a record of any scrapped...or exported. There's a list of the Cup chassis numbers in Robert Foskett's book, page 205.

Go on Mitch, give it a go, something to write about in your AROC column.

Cup 138

CUP 138 has been moved to reg R700GTV and s living in an underground garage in Prague.

It makes the trip across the city to the Airport once a week and occasional spin to the North East of Prague.

It's well cared for, people living above the parking hate it as the straight back from cat Zender Quad wakes them up at 6 am on a morning but apart from that it gets a lot of positive attention in the city.

It will remain in Prague until the MOT is due in April, I'll possibly then exchange it for my recently purchased V6 Spider and the CUP will be back in the UK. Until them I'm pretty sure I'm the only RHD CUP in Central Europe and possibly the only UK GTV living this far away. If not, give me a shout!

Is number 11 (ie) the Red Cup a respray ?
Is it a 2 litre ?

Were not all the Cup's in the 2 litre left hand drive Euro format just produced in Silver.
Of course there were also the 3 litre left hand drive Cup's in Switzerland some of which are known here.

There are no registration numbers on the site, the only way is contacting them all. If you want i can give you every link.

I have found more gtv cup's on the net, but some have no clear photo of the number.

I am searching the net because i want te buy one price/quality and store it until it's a oldtimer.

About the red one:

011 France Red 2.0: It looks like an original cup 2.0 but about the paint: no idea, I guess repaint, but it's close to the swiss boarder, so not sure.

Wake up Persi', where've you been lately?

It was discussed previously when someone posted re an original red 2.0 Euro Cup.

Obviously any car, even a Cup, can be repainted. Without chassis numbers we'll probably never know?

And here's it's new owner. Boy but that straight through Ragazzon is loud, too loud for South London/Surrey, but I still can't quite bring myself to swap the centre pipe for the new silencer sat in the garage...

Konis and new springs going on next week, maybe the silencer will too, or maybe not...
