...it'll be on the front & back bumpers of the car.

Good work.

Not as cheap as the header says apparently. In the ad it's £4450. That really annoys me. Autotrader is rife with it. Do these idiots think you will magically find another £500 in your **** pocket after they put the wrong price on. Idiots.

Although I knew it was Chris Holmes' car I hadn't realised that he's actually a member on here, although he's not visited since Nov 2008.

He posted some interesting 'facts' back in 2006: I have a letter in my hand dated regarding the Cups. (no, not like Mr Chamberlain) ! But it says that 419 Cups were made for Europe, 239 were 2.0 which didn't come here, 180 were 3.0 V6 which the UK took 155. This came from ARUK.
Best wishes Chris. Cup no125

The above is a post from his thread: http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/intro...cup-owner.html (New GTV Cup owner)

I'll contact him to see if we can have a copy of the ARUK letter, which I'll then post on here.

Clive

Given that the 2 litre versions were all Silver what colour were the additional 25 cars with the 3 litre V6 cars that did not go onto the UK market I wonder.

That also open up what number system was used on them.
We know Alfa just started from 1 again with the silver Cups.

Is there a 1-25 3 litre V6 colour ??? as well or are these 156 - 180 following on from the UK models?

I bought Cup #074 last week, it's a red V6, and it's not the one on the list as long as it is LHD (i'm from Czech Republic). It's a "genuine" Cup according to ePer, not just an ordinary GTV with aerokit. It has a new paintjob, but otherwise it's in good original condition. Odometer says 60k kilometers, fiat ecu scan too...

I believe all 155 Cups were Right hand Drive and designed for the UK market.

Has your car got a plaque with number on it.
Was it originally a RHD and perhaps it has been converted to Left ?

Have you got pictures inside and out to show us.
What is the history of the car ?

Yes, it has a plaque. I don't know how to post pictures in here, so i'm sorry for imageshack... ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting

I can post here a VIN, if it's safe (I don't know).

I believe it's not originally RHD, but i'm not sure, because i dont know how to recognize it... Everything seems to be genuine - Cup seats, Cup dashboard, Cup gauges with chrome... Also the 17" teledials are in a bit different colour than usual. Except for the front bumper, which is repaired after collision with terrible Czech roads.

The car is made on 14/05/2001 (according to ePer), it's imported to Czech in 2005 from Italy. I'm the 3. owner in Czech.

Looks like we might need to add a 3rd list for LHD V6 Cups?

I doubt it's been converted from RHD

It is 'safe' to post your chassis number or PM it to me please.

I'm really curious if it's converted RHD or not.... But physically theres no "evidence" for that. Even the black carpet (or rug? sorry for my english) is obviously LHD... So they did a really good job if it is converted.

I can't imagine anyone has converted it from one side to t'other either; Lord only knows how many man hours that would take.

Let's face it, they made "standard" V6 LHD cars so it won't have been any additional effort or cost from the factory to body kit and badge some as Cup.

.......I've checked on Eper, as you have, & initially it shows it as RHD (GD) but it gets confusing when I change it to LHD (GS). I also checked the chassis number of a Cup that I've currently got they came up the same.

I'll check with the local Alfa dealer (Monza Sport) tomorrow.

Previously I had 1.8TS 1999, VIN ZAR91600006061159 - ePer shows the same thing (i'm talking about GD/GS selection), but on this one I'm 100% sure it was originally LHD.

It's also strange that #074 Cup from your list of UK cars was for sale 2 years ago, but my Cup is in Czech since 2005, so it's obviously 2 different cars. If my Cup has been converted from UK version, then there cannot be another #074 in UK four years later... I think that if RHD #074 still exists, my Cup has to be the European #074 Cup, it's just not silver TS, but red V6.

Thanks for all the effort

Very interesting plaque in the second picture as all the UK Cup's have the typeface in RED whereas this seems to be in a dark grey/black shade
(hard to be sure from the picture).
But it is not RED.

Perhaps we do indeed have another complete set of Cups out there !!

If this car was originally from Italy was that the source of the market ?
And how many were produced and where are they now
