Sam you really need to use the search facility better, try advanced. If you had then you would've found, amongst others, my post #364 on page 15: http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-...ml#post5399234

Pics to help: red one's a CF3(& coincidentally it's a Cup!, which I sold), silver one's a CF2, which I've also sold.

It is the first of the run, so unique maybe not, but collectable yes.

Haven't got 10K spare otherwise I would buy it and tuck it away in a barn for a decade or two...

Please update no 86... as I have now purchased her ;-) Drove her home from London to Birmingham & apart from a few small issues all went well & I am in Looove!
She will sit on the drive as my PH1 Spider project is in the garage...... the PH1 is a great runner but I just need to sort the paint.

Perhaps a better more involved paint job than the quoted 800 one but if you're 'renovating' a Cup then I'd suggest paying the extra.

A lot of the extra cost in my paint job was the stripping down and rebuilding. If your prepared to do all that yourself then you can save

"These are super rare now, we've had over 20 here mostly damaged over the last 12 years, alot of these have been broken for spares, there really are not many left. They still fetch over 5000 and still have a following. They are utterly fantastic regardless of the age of them."

The above from the ad for the damaged one. Wonder if he means he has had 20 damaged Cups or 20 damaged GTVs?

Got to be GTVs surely? I went to look at this car. Someone had spent quite a lot of money on it. It has the usual faded paintwork. The sills etc had gone pink. The damage is fairly light. It will be a category C write off. It's not bad, and I have all the parts to repair it but I'm not sure that it works out financially...
It's worth saving though.

That eBay ad for my old car doesn't once mention it's a Cat D, think that's a bit sly really.

You don't have to mention it in an advert's description but you do have to disclose it if asked. Most people check a vehicle, hpi or similar, before buying....I actually give an hpi report with all the cars I sell.

Let's not get involved in a Cat D discussion in this thread please, it's been discussed many times in other threads. If you have a problem with the advert contact the seller directly or discuss it in his thread for Cup 64 please.

Actually I agree with paddymph
This is supposed to be a thread for CUP OWNERS
If a Cup is for sale and someone knows it has CAT history I would expect to hear about it on here
I thought the whole idea of the Cup list was to log the history of all the UK Cups, good points and bad.

I didn't say not to mention it here but asked that we didn't get involved in a Cat D discussion in this thread.....as it's not specific for Cups & can get involved....as it has in the other threads where it's been discussed many times.

It's also not just for Cup owners...past or present.....to post in but for anyone with info regarding Cups....the main point of this thread is to list as many Cups as possible & give their good or bad points if relevant.

Picking up no 25 tomorrow after full re-spray from G&B Auto Spray G & B Autospray | Royston-based specialists in bodywork repairs and resprays just down the road from Alfaworkshop. Can't wait, spoke to them last week and he said it looks the b0ll0cks ...just had some finally assembly stuff to do, door handles etc. Every time I drive past the place he's doing some proper classics, good reputation. I have new badges etc too

No damage just correcting the paint, stone chips etc. The missus is awful though, handbags and rings smacking into every car she touches…not this time!!!

Still at 44k miles and back in the garage and under a cover until the weather improves. Just the wheels to restore and it’ll be perfect.

Recently back from Alfaworkshop too, new rad and waxoyl underneath, haven’t driven it for best part of two months, shame that the weather forecast isn’t all that, wanted to pop out along the country lanes and take some photo's this weekend...the weather will turn and I’ll stick some on.
