ticking noise

Finally got rid of a horrible ticking noise which has been driving me mad,
i purchased a decat from cyberbox and started to fit it this mornning,on further inspection of the down pipe from the manifold i noticed some small black marks around a clamp just before the cat,so off with the down pipe its then i saw the gasket had been leaking, new gasket down pipe welded no ticking noise but a loverly rasp at around 3000rpm from my decat and on the plus feels a little more responsive, one happy chapy

Removed my silenced cybox decat recently from my gtv 2.0 ltr twinspark cf2 to see if fuel consumption improves, had the cybox on for 6 months and thought it made little difference apart from a lovely rasp in the power band so off it came.
I was going to sell it but after refitting the cat i decided to hang on to it for a while.
I now have the cat back on and i miss the noise and drama also found it does not rev as willingly so i am going to refit the cybox this weekend.
Didn't notice much difference on mpg with or without, and performance is similar it just seems slower because its much less vocal.
The decat is worth it because it makes the car sound and feel the way i imagined an Italian twincam should.
