Alfa GTV 2.0 TS

Out with the old (with a bang), in with the new

Out with the old...

A few weeks ago, on a country road, I had a moment that I'm not particularly proud of and slid my red, Ph1 twinny into a parked transit. It was quite a bang (and my first ever accident, big or small, after 15 years on the road).

The result was that both vehicles were written off, the police invited me to a driver awareness course, and my insurance will be somewhat pricier for a while.

On the plus side, no one was hurt - I had a tiny bruise on my hip - so I can feel very lucky. I've had a few cold sweat moments thinking 'what if's since the accident!!!

(I must say too that the policeman who dealt with me was very fair and reasonable - hence the driving course rather than a court date!)

But it was a sad end for my beloved GTV...

In with the new...

Yesterday I picked up a black, ph2, lusso twinnie, with red leather interior. It's a '99 V reg with less than 60K on the clock, 2 previous owners, and all the original Alfa tools in the boot. Hoorah! I'm back!

I had a huge, huge smile on my face for the entire 80 mile journey to bring it home.

Glad your back on the road with your new GTV, watch out for parked transits though.

Bad luck with the crash.

Good luck with the new one - I'll look out for it!

Alfa spider

I have had Alfas from the day I passed my test back in 79, I have a 2L 2002 spider just now. I think Alfa must be messing with our brains there is a feel good factor no matter which model you drive. Have fun with your new car.
