Disconnected my MAF tonight, WOW.. huge improvement, less stuttery, car feels like it's pulling away from me, slight misfire is gone. I swear my car has decided to have *every* fault possible.
Have a new (secondhand) MAF coming in the post from driver33p4 on here (thanks again!).
What's the fitting like? Want to check my air filter at the same time.

Far end of the big air pipe has a jubilee clip on it but the end near the air filter box has one of those weird factory clips on it.
Any hints on the best way to go around it? The workshop manual seems to show taking the whole pipe off, is it best it replace the whole housing for the MAF or would just swapping the sensor do the same, then I wouldnt have to replace the factory clip? Also the screws/bolts on the top of the air filter box look REALLY corroded, if I need to get those out what's the best way and what will I need to replace them?
