Assistance request : Late phase 1 Twinspark with aircon
If anyone is removing the passenger side carpeted centre console panel can you have a look at an electrical connector for me.
The car spec is quite specific :
1. Must be Twinspark as the V6 has different wiring.
2. Late phase 1 from VIN ZAR91600006023907 ( cars fitted with the M2.10.4 ECU. Early phase 1 ( M2.10.3 ) has different wiring. A quick way to check your VIN number is to look at the etching on the car's windows for the number 6023907 or greater.
3. With factory fitted aircon.
This is information I need in respect of my project to retro fit aircon to my car.
Behind the passenger side carpeted panel, under the heater and behind the radio is a white connector. See photo below. It's in the same area as the ECU diagnostic socket.
On my car, 9 wires go in ( from the car's ECU ), and only 5 come out. Three of the other 4 would go to the pressure sensors in the engine bay and the fourth would control the compressor clutch relay if aircon were fitted.
My research to date has led me to the conclusion that the aircon loom fits between the two halves of this connector. See the diagram below. i.e. if I'm right, I unplug this connector and plug each half into the aircon loom.
So, if anyone is poking around in this area of the car, can you confirm the presence of two of these connectors on your aircon car ( where I only have 1 ) with one pair having 9 wires and the other pair just 5 wires and the other 4 wires disappearing off towards the bulkhead ( probably ). A photo would be nice as well!
I hope that's clear!
Thanks in advance.
