Cheap insurance?

I am about to buy either a 99 or 01 model 3 litre. I am 44, have a 2 year ncb I can use and no points. I am trying to see if I can get the insurance down below the 500 mark. Any suggestions of who I should try? I have used all the comparison sites as well as swiftcover who refuse to insure - odd since my Twinspark was insured through them as is my current car.

Another option I have is to take a multi car policy as my other car is due for renewal this month. On that policy I have over 5 years ncb. Any suggestions guys?

I am slightly younger than you, and found Direct Line to be considerably cheaper than any of the price comparison lot for my TS.
A bit odd though as around five years ago they refused to insure me on my first GTV, I must be properly old now?

Carole Nash were excellent for me. I managed to get my '97 Twinnie on a classic policy. might be worth a call.

Car Insurance | Carole Nash

I got the impression they really tailored the policy towards what I wanted rather than just another "computer say no" operator.

2002 GTV 2.0 TS

I have a 2002 2.0 GTV & an E60 530I insured on an admiral Multicar (north London) and they were streets ahead of anyone on a comparison website and or specialist like Adrian Flux. I would give them a try...

Have a multicar policy through Admiral - reasonable.

Mines up by 100 this year even though I've had no claims am female and over 50, it's ridiculos. I spent ages ringing round and scouring the tinternet for better prices, I asked Academy the reason for the increase, they said insurance has risen by 40% this year, they were still cheaper than the 50+ others I tried, so I've stuck with them.

Just been through the insurance renewal game on my 3.0 GTV

Have been with Direct Line for ten (claim free) years, this year they decided to repay my loyalty by not only doubling the premium but by raising the interest on the monthly payment agreement to something like 28% apr

My insurance would have gone from just over 300 to over 700 had I stuck with them

Swinton worked out cheapest for me (age 53, 9yrs+ no claims and female partner added to the policy) - 250 for fully comp including business use, 10k miles per year, protected no claims and legal cover. Add on the interest rate and it works out at 27 a month - that'll do
