Ok so I need a bunch of things doing, not sure what to do first. I need to ensure that the car stays on the road as long as possible, money is tight so I cant afford to get it all done at once or even 2 things in the same month. So figure doing these things over the next 6-8 months. Factor in safety
What order would you fix them in?
Clutch – Thrust Bearing is going, quietish noise when you push the clutch down: New Clutch £495 Fitted (Autolusso) also Driveshafts – Driveshaft lose (drivers side) Worn (passenger side) £40 per side if fitted at same time as clutch. (Autolusso)
Both front wishbones worn, significant movement when shown up on a ramp.
Service - No service shown recently.
Cam Belt - Autolusso said it 'didnt look too bad' from a quick look, last reciept was for 'Head Set £60, Head Bolts £12, Timing Belt Kit £62 and Exhaust valves x 8 £42'. Looks like parts only. Nothing showing fitting. This was in 2009 (10k miles ago)
Anything else that should get checked/done on a car with no maintainance history and by the looks of it has been 'let go' for the last few years.
Remember.. Aim is to give the car the best chance of surviving the next year without catestrophic failure and scrapyard
Doing any two of these things at the same time is out of the question.
