GTV 2litre ts

My '99 GTV 2litre has failed NCT (Irelands MOT).
At high idle of 3,100 it read 1.05, limit is between 0.98 and 1.03

I'm thinking lambda sensor ( thermostat is fairly new so I'm ruling that out).

Any ideas?

What were the other measurements? High lambda on it's own could indicate a leak in the exhaust letting in oxygen.

Did you give the car a good thrash before hand or even stationary take ut up to 3500-4000 for a good couple of mins, I took one of my cars for an MOT and the emissions were a little high so the MOT guy got me to do this then when it was connected back up to the machine the emissions were fine & well within the limits he said that the cat has to get warm before it works efficiently.
