It fitted. It wasnt easy at all but I guess I was expecting it, is not the first strut bar I've installed. The measures are perfect, the hood closes and doesnt touch, the holes are spot on, you dont have to move the brake fluid deposit... but:
- The EGR valve has a small screw on top that touches slightly when the car is off and bends if you turn it on and go for a ride to a twisty road next to your house, I can assure that.
- The oil vapour separator (which I learned about it just now) is pushed down by the bar but is not a big problem as is attached to the engine by a small plate that deforms enough.
The first problem I fixed it by making a very small hole in the bar for the screw to go in and putting a rubber pad for the metal noise, that actually is the only noise it had when I tried, and it only happened when lifting the foot after accelerating strong. I'm currently thinking of removing all that EGR and gas and oil recirculation systems, I'm pretty sure they make the car slower just because of pollution levels. Any help on this matter will be greatly apreciated.
So now is just perfect, no noise, no damage..... and yes, the car feels tighter. Is not as much an improvement as it was for my Corolla (which means the GTV chasis is much better done), but eliminates a lot of shaking and feels more stable and grippy without getting uncomfortable at all. I've always said is a great and cheap mod to do in any car and I will always recommend it.
