Help Help and Advice please :)

Hello All

Just had the service done on the Spider (y2000) which was fine, but silly me I asked them to do an all over check, because we are new owners of it since July i just wanted to be carefull.

Well it turns out we have a radiator leak, the N/S/R Suspension lower arm is WORN OUT , and both rear Suspension Pillars are getting Worn

So this mean that I need to get a new radiator, a new lower suspension arm and 2 rear suspension pillars my question is.....any ideas where I can find the cheapest, without scrimping too much on quality around the Gloucesteshire area.

I did hear on one of these threads about a garage in Pershore, Worcs!! i think, just wondering if they would be cheaper than the Alfa Dealer in Cheltenham.

Help!!! I need halp and advice regarding the above jobs.....please be gentle as we are Alfa Noobs.

You gotta love em to keep em

Re: Help and Advice please :)

I have just bought a GTV TS 2.0 and had mine serviced a major one at that . I think unless you go to a very small garage i.e not specialist you will get the cheapest price. However some jobs are better done by people who know what they are doing i.e. servicing.

I had quotes from main dealer and specialist and as it turns out they were very similar.

I recommend perhaps buying the parts and getting a small independent garage to so the work therefore all you have to do is find the cheapest parts - worrying only about the most convenient garage. Experience/ Size Vs Cost / workmanship.

Anyway in reply I have found these companies -

On another note, I have a slight oil leak, two weeks after servicing my new car, Amongst other I had new gear box oil and engine oil. The dealer put it up on the ramp and said it was the crank seal - oh dear labour cost mounting 7hrs aprox ahh plus might as well put a new clutch in as we are at it!!

Thing is I was told it was definitely engine oil coming out (we are talking a drop on the garage floor every 3 days) yet it smells like gearbox oil - Is it at all possible that the previous service they overfilled either of the 2 and some has leaked out to around this area??

I am sure the dealerships are correct but I always get the feeling every garage looks for work sometimes.

Any help / advice would be most welcome.
