Farewell and thanks

As euroboy and Nige005 have said above, it isn't a tricky job, but it can be a long winded one. I have taken the cards off so many times, that I can do it in 15 minutes now. The regulator comes out quite easily, the problem is that we, as amateur mechanics, don't have access to the window shim tools that the dealerships apparently have. So fitting of the glass is trial and error.
Mine decided to go in Dec 09, when the temperature was hovering around 0C. My hands could barely move. I got the glass in, checked the operation - all looked fine, glass not catching the seal. Put the card back on, only to find that the card applies pressure to the glass and changes the way it sits. Cue much swearing and a second attempt. Actually, was more like three or four attempts. I thought that I had it solved, but once driving it at speed, horrible wind noice appeared. And it didn't keep water out! Bit more swearing filled the cockpit. The last attempt seems to have worked. It sits quite high and I just pop the glass back under the seal when I close the door. I would still attempt it again if it meant saving £100, but expect to get into a very ratty mood if you do try this job yourself! Good luck.
