Well, after fitting a new back box, cleaning the rear calipers & pistons, then fitting new pads, I thought I was half way to getting back on the road.
How wrong I was!
When going to pump the brakes and get the pistons moving, the pedal just didn't get stiff again, and when I went out to look under the car, there was a nice puddle of brake fluid right under the small box-like object next to one of the exhaust hangers.
Having looked at other threads on the matter, it looks like one of the rear brake lines going into this box have sprung a leak, as the top of the box where the lines connect is soaked in fluid.
I've got a horrible feeling this job is just a bit beyond my capabilities, as I don't have access to ramps, and not enough funds to get the car trailered to a local garage.
Does anyone have an idea of how much new brake lines cost, and how can I tell which one is the leaking line? Can I take the box off and inspect the connections?
