I had a job interview in Doncaster yesterday, it's a 500 mile round trip so I thought I would take my twinne to give it a run
Anyway the car ran like a dream all the way up and I was quietly pleased that all the preventative maintenace I had been doing had paid off I got withinin sight of my destination when there was a loud pop a puff of Blue smoke and the car sounded like a lawn mower
I dumped the car and got the interview out the way thinking o dear it's a long walk home
there was an Asda down the road so I nursed the car down there grabbed a mickey mouse tool set and set about finding the problem. turns out number 2 cylinder had decided to eject the spark plug from the head, this had smashed the bottom of the coil pack up a treat and killed the plug. Bugger I thinks and sets about finding as local hellfrauds, this was 3 miles away so I has a pleasant stroll down grabbed a plug spanner and a set of plugs and strolls back
. Now my problem deepens, when I attempted to fit the new plug I could push it all the way home and could just feel it rubbing on the thread of the cylinder head
by now it's 6 pm and I had set out at 4 am so I thought stuff it, unplugged the injector left the spark plug out refitted the coil pack and drove it home, it went surprisingly well if a little noisy
what I am hoping is that someone may have a cheap 2.0 cylinder head for sale, I would be happy enough with one that had been taken off of a car due to timing belt faliure as I don't mind swapping my parts over also is the 1.8 head the same or are they different?
