Thumbs Up How to: Change you faded rear badge!

Hi guys

Not sure if there's a guide for this so i figured i would put this up.

Right, we all know how manky the rear badges go, water gets under the lacquer and they end up looking a mess!

So here is a quick guide to change your badge for a nice shiny new one!

Trim remove/screwdriver
Little bit of grease

So here is the offending article, a site many of you are familiar with i am sure:

So pop the boot and you will see the boot carpet held in the little rectangular clips:

Once you have popped these off you can now see the back of the badge:

The small circlip needs to come off, the best way is to get it most of the way of with a screwdriver then pull it of with your fingers, so it doesn't fire off into the boot lid never to be seen again....

Be aware there is also a small plastic washer and a spring that will come off after the clips removed.

So once you have the bits off take out the badge:

There is also another small spring that sits in the front to level the badge, in the below pic you can see where it sits to the left:

Heres my old badge looking very worn, the pin was really lose:

New badge needed that small hole redrilling, make sure you don't drill through the badge..:

Then do the reverse and put it back together, to make reassemble easier you can remove the whole unit by turning the locking tab, this way the badge unit comes out of the boot lid just enough to push the clip back in, you can see the locking tab here:

Finished result!:
