Dodgy car parts
Today on a programme called Fake Britain, there was section on couterfeit car parts, in the main, Brake pads, airbags, lights and filters. They found a group in Northern Ireland who were importing and selling VW brake pads. They tested a VW car with new pads from VW and the fake ones, there was a 15 metre stopping difference between the 2 sets under normal dry conditions at 40mph. They said fake parts are becoming huge business in the UK and particularly from online sites. Obviously you're a fool to by off a market stall, but if you can't trust online business's it's very worrying. It could be life or death in some cases. I think that online business's are going to have to do more to show their goods are genuine in some way. Of course there are honest online traders, but some may not be and some maybe being duped themselves, the market is worth millions and great lengths are gone to, to deceive the public at large.
I think it would be a good idea to compile a list of genuine traders for Alfa parts. What do you all think.
