Alfatech will be replacing the OSF (inner) cv boot on my spider tomorrow. I bought the replacement from Alternative Autos (about £7) - but Alfatech said that it's an 'orrible long job just to replace the boot.
Instead, they're going to leave the replacement boot unused and will buy another type which is split down the side (so that it can be wrapped around the axle/cv without any dismantling). The sides are then glued together.
Apparently some of these glue-together cv boots aren't very good, ie. they come undone and fall off. But the one they're going to get has super strong glue and should be fine - they've used them before.
This method should cost about £20, rather than £7 for a proper boot + two to three hours labour (ie. £150-ish)
