My bars do not have the same centre tabs as those on your photo.
However, I would imagine you need to cut them off as they WILL foul your battery box/cubby hole lid.
As I indicated in my post earlier, I used a local metal polishers. If you cut the brackets off your local polisher will grind down and polish so that you will not know that there were ever brackets there.
I am writing on an iPad and have found a little difficulty in uploading pics so if you can bear with me I will try to show my installation as soon as I can sort out the photo transfer.
Needless to say my installation does not foul the cubbyhole lid and in effect all I have done is fabricate new brackets so they fix on the front of the battery bulkhead rather than the top. Using stainless I made the brackets, tried them, modified them (by cutting and rewelding) until they were correct and then fully welded them before getting them polished. You cannot tell that they were " codged " so many times because the polishing guy got rid of all the evidence and made them look perfect.
