I'm needing a little help:
I'm needing to downsize a bit, I want to sell my 2.0 GTV and buy a 1.6 147, however, there are problems:
I really want to make an honest and fair as possible sale, however this is only the second time I've sold a car and I've no idea at all how much to ask for it? Its not perfect, so I'll tell ya's a little about it and hopefully you guys (and gals) can help me out
Its a phase 2, 2001, 2.0 twinspark Lusso in Blue, its just passed its MOT with flying colors (about 2 weeks ago) but the tax does run out at the end of the month. The mileage is currently sitting at 66700.
The best part is the engine, its perfect, not a single mechanical fault to be found
However... there are a few problems (I'll save the worst for last), first off there are a couple of very small scratches and two small dents (rear bumper), but they really have to be pointed out before you see them. Also one of the little bits of trim is missing from the front bumper (the long black vent-like thing under one of the headlights). It has two little faults inside, firstly the sunroof doesn't work properly, its opens fine but it needs a hand closing (probably quite a tricky fix so I kinda just wrote it off as a feature). And secondly the little motor under the glovebox (something to do with the air con) is a bit worn out (squeaks a little), I have had a go at fixing this and it really could not be easier, it just needs a new motor (£25 second hand) and actually only takes 2 minutes to remove and replace
Now, here it comes...
Its had a shunt, at some point in its life its had a bit of a knock at the front, and just to make things worse I have pretty much no history, I've had it looked at by a very trustworthy (family) mechanic who assures me all the work that has been done is up to a very professional level, in-fact he couldn't really figure out what had happened in the first place. But, I cant prove that so I'll have to take the hit for it, it does say in the notes on the reg document that its has an "accident repair". AND, last not not least: I only have one original key (with a faulty beeper) and one copied key, I don't have the master key.
I know this is a far from perfect example of a GTV, I didn't pay a lot for it and I'm expecting that I will not get much for it. Its been my first Alfa and a just fantastic first step into these wonderful machines, and I'm thinking it may be the same again for the next owner.
Like I said, I just want to make the fairest and most honest as possible sale, and have just no idea what to expect to get for it?
And thanks soo much for having a read at my little predicament
P.S oh, and if anyone is intrested (or knows someone who is) please give me a shout.
