Well, she failed me today, nothing too major but a failure at the wrong time none the less!
Two front tyres are worn on the inside edge, not a big patch either as to look at the rest of the tyre they are in good nick.
Rear brakes not making much force, not something I've noticed as I've been driving around, the car stops fine but I'll have a look at the pads, they may just need replacing.
Worn wheel bearing on the front nearside, I knew this already but wasn't aware it was a point of failure.
Exhaust "incomplete," which my only little area of contention. To be precise, yes it is incomplete, it's missing the couple of inches long bit of pipe off the back of the rear silencer, but nothing is blowing, and the system is as silent as it ever was, so I feel it was a little harsh to fail it on that, but the MoT guy is just playing by the book.
So now I'm debating whether to sell up, (I was likely to do this in a month or two anyway, since starting my new job I only live 2 miles from the office so it's not doing the car any good either sitting around all the time or only being used for that short journey) or keep hold of the car and fix one area a month, as money is tight and I can't do all the jobs at once, then sell up later in the year.
Looking at Alfa parts online, it's cheap enough to get them, its just the tyres and exhaust that are costly, and I really begrudge shelling out a chunk of money for a new rear exhaust section just because it's missing 3 inches of pipe!
Oh well, the trials and tribulations of car ownership...
