TS and cooling

Been having some strange engine temperature events recently, especially in traffic, the cooling fan refused to budge to high speed mode despite the temp being at 95 Deg C...

Now i thought this was unrelated, however just had my A/C recharged at Mangoletsi's,(thanks guys excellent service) and the fan high speed now works and keeps the temp in check in traffic.

Apparently the theory is that yes the fan is controlled by the ECU, however it takes into account a number of other parameters, such as road speed, and is the A/C system pressure correct..(dont know how true that all is) but was shown the ecu parameters not forgetting i have had a Remap and it makes sense to me, also above a certain speed the high speed fan shuts down because it is fighting against the air flowing through the air intakes in the bumper...

I dont know if anyone else can verify this, it sounds sensible, it was an Alfa trained techy explaining it and i have absolutely no reason to doubt it.

The upshot is yes it will still go to 95 Deg C it isnt doing any harm and all appears well again..And in traffic the loudest fan i have ever heard in a car keeps everything good....I am a happy Alfisti again...

When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth
