Advice on Spider Hood - replace or not?

I need to replace the rear window section of my 2001 Spider, its misty, slightly creased and the stitching on one side is really worn - in fact come unstitched. The roof is in amazing condition with only the usual ageing for the age of the car. I guess i've two questions;

Do i replace the whole roof, been quoted 795 or do i have the clear section proffesionally replaced and while im at it have the roof cleaned, dyed and waterproofed - been quoted 450 for that all in. Im not changing the colour of the navy roof so cant see too many issues with the dyed option as it will darken the slightly faded areas.

Anyone on here had it done and were you happy with results. Im also in Brighton, am happy to travel if anyone can advise or recommend anyone who did theirs.

Any advice/help greatfully received.

If I remember right you can get a new replacement window for about 150 (ebay) and a cleaning and proofing kit for about 15.

I think the replacement windows will have a black canvas/ mohair section, which wont look good on the navy roof

What about going to a sail repairer - I had an MG Midget's window replaced years ago - much less than the cost of a replacement hood/ window section
