I've got a weird problem that perhaps someone can shed some light on?
Had an intermittent hesitation problem on the GTV I bought a couple of weeks ago. I disconnected the MAF today, and noticed an immediate difference - no flatspots, hesitation - she even idles better. So, we know what the problem is.
I took the MAF assembly out to find the MAF and sensor part numbers:
MAF: 0280 218 054
I searched online for a replacement, as I'd previously read here that you can buy a MAF assembly with the same sensor part number for different cars and the prices are wildly different. ie, Alfa sensor and assembly £210, Vauxhall sensor and assembly £65. Still the very same sensor part number.
But here's where it gets interesting:
Everywhere I look it states that the MAF assembly that is currently fitted to the car is for 3.0 GTVs after October 2000. I have a 1999 GTV and most other members seem to have the more common sensor part number: F00C2G2030.
I checked through the history with the car and the MAF was replaced in June last year but not by a specialist.
My ultimate question:
Is the wrong MAF attached to my GTV?
What MAF do you have in your
It would appear I'm after MAF assembly 0280 217 514, but I don't know which sensor part number that contains
