Crank Sensor ? Or worst ???
Have searched through the posts and after a few days of hit and miss with my P1 GTv I hope i've found the problem but would like a second opinion.
Saturday, started first time, as it always does, then drove around for about 20 mins. parked up, no problems. Came back about 2 hours later, fired up no issues.
Drove 2 miles, left it for 5 minutes came back. Turned over but would not start.
So, left it for an hour and came back, started first time. Drove her home , again about 2 miles, got into my drive, Tried to start it up nothing, same issue with it turning over and then not firing.
So, left it overnight, suspecting a crank sensor. This morning, she started first time, drove 1.5 miles, whilst doing 60 on an A road and it just died on me, no warning lights, nothing, just a loss of power and the engine just died, managed to pull over safetly and got a tow for the 1/4 mile back home. This morning I doubt it would have had time to even warm up, which is why I am worried it's something else, I read in the posts that the CS fails once the engine gets hot.
Is this likely to be a crank sensor ? despite the engine being cool, after just 2 miles, and do they go that quickly, ie 2 days from start of problem to total failure ? Could someone put my mind at rest..and confirm, as best they can, that this all points to the Crank sensor giving up the ghost ??
Thanks in advance guys.
