Hands up if you've changed an electric window regulator
So I've decided to try and cure my wind noise (oo-err) once and for all after three half-hearted attempts to adjust the window in the past. There are some signs that someone has had the door card off in the past and the paint on some of the nuts holding the top door hinge on is scuffed so there's definitely been some tinkering (other than mine) in the past so I don't believe that anything about the door is the way it's supposed to be.
I managed to nail most of the adjustments, but I couldn't get the guides to hit both stops at the same time so the window isn't quite straight. I ended up taking almost everything out and putting it back together and I noticed that the two stops are ever so slightly different - see attached photo.
The stop on the left seems to work well on either the front or the rear runner, but the other stop with more distance between the bolt and the stop seemed too long and either got in the way and stopped the window going up enough and hitting the other stop, or the window hit the other stop first and didn't get to the long one.
So has anyone changed over an electric window motor and noticed the two different length stops? Any idea which one is supposed to go where? At the moment I've got the short one on the rear runner but I cannot for the life of me make the front runner hit the longer stop.
