Hi guys and gals,
Iíve recently been having problem with misty conditions inside the car. Both sidewindows and rear window cover up with mist rather quickly on rainy days. Even the front screen mists up somewhat where the ventilation ducts donít reach.
Iíve done several searches on the forum, but they donít seem to address my problem exactly.
My heater is working, both hot and cold and on all speed settings. My car has an AC fitted, and it works as well.
To try and fix it, I had a look at the ventilation air intake under the windscreen wipers, to try and see if the filter was at fault (wet or clogged etc). Surprise, there wasnít one fittedÖ
However, I found that the flap for the recirculation of air was shut (so itís recirculating). Started the car up and tried the button for recirculation of air, but no response. It makes no whirring sound at all.
Fiddled a bit with the flap, and when pushed down to allow air in, the motor for the flap obviously tries to shut it again (as it sounds quite unhappy with me pressing the flap down), so I take it the motor is working fine.
Now, from reading threads on the recirculation of air a while back, I remember there was a mention of a íknobí thingy located in the footwell that could control recirculation. Is this the likely fault?
Could the contact on the recirculation button, or the button mechanism itself be faulty, is this a common problem?
If anyone could enlighten me on this issue, Iíll be eternally grateful
