No, I hope that it was sorted out and that we'll have the answer on here to help people out in the future.
When I Post any Tech Advice I don't expect or want any " kudos " but would be nice to know if it was either helpful or utter rubbish, not just for my sake but for the Forum as a whole.
Hate the Threads when, usually, a Newbie, comes and asks for advice, gets lots of info, good or bad, and is never seen again ! Nancy Drew Mysteries................
PS. Clive, I read your Thread about broken Windows and not sure about it as I have no expertise in the Auto Drop function although I sort of know how it works.
Anyway, and perhaps more to the point, when one of my Windows failed with similar problems, but no Autodrop fitted, it was actually the Motor. What had happened was that the Motor Magnets, which are just glued inside the Motor, had become detached, lots of clicking and heat but nothing else. Seems too much of a coincidence to me that both Motors have failed at the same time so maybe there is a common cause.
Didn't put this on your Thread as I'm not sure that it is particularly helpful.
