Exhaust making wigs...

Or at least it appears to be spewing out hair behind it.
I'm guessing this means that the baffle on the back box is falling apart and the fibreglass (if that's what it is) wadding inside is coming loose.

Wasn't really planning to get a new back box (well at least at the moment, it was at the end of a long 'to-do' list) but I guess it will need one.
To be fair it is a cheap pattern part looking at it. If finances allow I guess it's an excuse to have a SS one

Yep, that'll be it. Had it happen to me 6 months or so ago, can heartily recommend this unsilenced Ragazzon back section as a replacement

The train :(

My back box fell off due to rust - I didn't notice any difference in sound even without it but due to cosmetics (and fears about exhaust fumes / m.o.t), I had a pipe made up which went straight from the other rear box to a chrome tailpipe. I feel I didn't get value for money from the company that fitted it but that's probably because I'm not the sort to haggle.
