There isnt an official change interval, though I did mine the other day and the oil was brown and foul (car has only done 72K). Box feels a little slicker and the odd clonk engaging 5th has disappeared. Is an easy (uh-ish ) job and cheap, just a couple of litres of 75w90 or 75w85 fully synthetic oil.

no oil will last forever over time or milage. Not a difficult job so change it. I did nmine last year - no idea if it had been done before. The oil looked OK on dipstick but ALOT of brown sludge/debris came out when drained.
Ensure g/box is fully warmed up before you drain to ensure as much old oil and debris is removed as possible.
Refill is a bit slow thru dipstick hole but set up a drip type arrangment and go have a cup of tea!

Yes , I had an oil syringe, but the oil was too viscous to force through it, so just used it as a big funnel. In retrospect should have sat the containers in very hot water for a while before attempting it.
