moist drivers footwell.

hi all,
Plenty of posts about soggy passenger footwells, none on driver footwell.
Its not puddles or anything but the carpet is moist wet under the peddles.Only noticed when vacuuming out on the weekend. Not enough water to find the trail so I am hoping you guys will come back with a good common fault.

Check the scuttle panel where the wipers are . I replaced my wiper linkage a couple of years ago ,the first time it rained the water come flooding in . I just used some sealer round the edge of the scuttle and windscreen , i have had no repeat incidents of water ingress .

check that the drain hole under the wiper motor is not blocked with years of leaves and other crap, when it rained hard the collected water could not flow away quickly enough and then discharged into the drivers footwell.

I shall have a look this weekend, I am not loosing any coolant and there is no coolant smell, so I am hoping it will be the scuttle. Had similar problems on scuttle drains on my van and mercedes. Not sure what why any car manufacturer wants to put rubber bungs or squeezed end rubber drain pipes on any vehicle, it just causes silt build up. I am sure I will adapt the GTV drain similar to the others, i.e stanley knife and scissors to make the biggest hole possible.
