Removing the alarm control box
To give you an update, I removed the alarm control box in about 5 mins, taking my time. I went throught the passenger side and removed the 2 off philips screws fwd of the airbag key screwing the carpet to the intrument tunnel. Pulling the carpet back carefully, there was a collection of wires entering the alarm control unit. The unit itself was loose, as in not fixed to any bodywork or trim panels, allowing it to be manipulated in my hand. With this much access to clearly see the harness connections in the back of the now confirmed M99T2 model alarm, I had a total of 4 plugs. Two large dark grey plugs, one square, one rectangular and 2 small single plug in connections. I marked one of the single connections with a red dot corresponding to a matching red dot on the unit so I knew where to fit it back in. The 2 large harness connections have a tab to help release them by pressing into the plug body. These were tight to remove so i used a thin flat head screw driver to carefully wedge between the grey plug and the black surrounding female alarm box pin insert, twisting to open the gap up slowly. Note : the black pin insert is slightly loose in the black box aparture and could be mistaken as part of the harness plug. The unit and fobs are now in transit to Abacus Alarms recorded post.
